ADMISSION CRITERIA

• age under 25
• advanced level in arts
• belief that “Art Matters”
• relation to Northern Ontario –
residency, birth, visiting, admiration…

APPLICATION

To be considered for presentation at the annual art festival Ardour Eruption, artists under 25 years of age shall submit to the Chancery Art Gallery a Letter of Intent with name, age, art interests, achievements, and contact information. In addition, the following data should be included:

visual artists:
• artwork(s)* title, year, dimensions, media, suggested price
• digital images** of up to three works
• photographers may also want to submit a slideshow*** up to 20 pictures for presentation on LCD display

musicians:
• specify the instrument(s) you will play ****
• title(s) of the piece(s)
• duration of each piece

writers, poets and actors:
• include the text(s) you wish to declare
• duration of each piece

filmmakers:
• include a short description of your film
• a copy of the film ***
• duration

* "artwork" to be limited to painting, drawing, print, photography and sculpture; the artist shall be responsible for delivery of the selected artwork to the gallery and its after-show extraction; see the Contract Contract.PDF

** digital images (.jpg) of artworks should be submitted via CD, web links or e-mail attachments (attachment sent to gallery@ChanceryArt.com should not exceed 1 MB)

*** films and slideshows should be saved in a format readable by CD-DVD player; if the artist wishes the submitted disc to be returned by mail, an appropriate self-addressed stamped envelope should be provided

**** an antique baby grand piano and classical acoustic concert guitar are available in the gallery

An endowment will be granted to a selected visual artist by a private donor – JBS Art Scholarship – to support his/her further endeavour in professional art career

FOR ART INSTRUCTORS

Teachers of music, theatre, literature, filmmaking, etc. are invited to have concerts / presentations of their classes for parents and friends of the students. Use this scene for further promotion and advertising of your art class to the general public of Muskoka – e-mail your proposal to the gallery to reserve a spot during the fesival week
